Social Media Volunteer Opportunity

Are you Facebook savvy? An avid Tweeter? We have a place for you Scribble Me Silly – Art for Kids! We are looking for a highly dedicated, responsible and passionate individual who will be excited to create social media content and promote Scribble Me Silly – Art for Kids programs.

Scribble Me Silly – Art for Kids is a Canadian charitable organization with non-profit status that aims to empower victims of abuse through the vehicle of art. We are committed to providing opportunities for self expression, nurturing creative talents, promoting positive role models, building self-esteem, and bringing artists and children together in the silliest of ways.

Overall Job Description:

• The social media intern at Scribble Me Silly will be instrumental in increasing our social media presence and getting visibility for our brand. The intern will also assist in social media projects and PR strategies.
• Create and maintain a content editorial calendar
• Aggregate and/or create article and video content
• Communicate exciting social media news (internal and external)
• Schedule video interviews with businesses/providers
• Distribute content to various content websites
• Monitor and engage on various social media platforms
• Contact Social Media leads about our services
• Internet research to find and engage with social media communications
• Update website, as needed
• Track website statistics

Qualifications:

• Familiar with Twitter and Facebook, HootSuite
• Passionate about Social Media (interested in doing it for yourself too!)
• Friendly and conversational
• Entrepreneurial
• Must be detail oriented, team player and technologically savvy
• Fast Learner

Benefits:

• Estimated weekly hours are 3-5 hours per week, unless you have more time than that! (Schedule
is flexible, but most days will require a minimum of ½ hour, to keep the communication constant)
(Minimum 6-month commitment, but longer if you’d like)
• Intern will work remotely, on his/her own computer
• Opportunities for increased responsibility
• Learn and gain additional knowledge in social media and WordPress from someone knowledgeable
