Expression of Interest to Volunteer on the Board of Directors or a Board Committee
Are you interested in becoming a volunteer member of Scribble Me Silly – Art for Kids Board of Directors, or
becoming a volunteer on one of the Board Committees?>
Scribble Me Silly’s purpose is to create positive spaces where children living in shelters or after school community
centres can rediscover what it means to be a kid. We believe every child deserves a life filled with love, learning,
exploration, creative expression, and art.
Scribble Me Silly – Art for Kids Board of Directors consists of dedicated professionals whose values align with
Scribble Me Silly’s mandate, and who will help make sound business decisions to manage the business and financial affairs of the nonprofit charity.
Each Board or Committee member volunteers their time and expertise, commits to a two year term that includes
attending required training sessions, volunteering for at least two programs a year, and successfully completing a
“vulnerable sector” background police check, noting that this process can take up to 2 months.
Volunteering provides you with the opportunity to gain and/or hone a range of valuable work skills from strategic
planning, relationship building, communications and negotiation, to marketing and fundraising.
It also allows you to build your own network and cultivate new friendships as we work together to guide the
development and continuous improvement of Scribble Me Silly – Art for Kids.
Our Board meets the first Monday of each month (unless a holiday in which case it falls on the following Monday)
and also communicates via email. The time commitment on average is 5-6 hours a month.
